Atlanta Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit affordable home builder dedicated to transforming generations through the power of homeownership. We offer individuals and families with modest income the opportunity to purchase quality, affordable homes in our target service areas (the City of Atlanta and South Fulton County).
Because these families have been systemically squeezed out of opportunities for upward mobility, we go ‘beyond the build’ to empower them with resources for financial planning, education, home preservation and entrepreneurship. Since 1983, we have been a trusted partner, builder, lender and neighbor in Atlanta.

Vision
We envision an Atlanta where all people have access to quality, affordable homeownership in safe, vibrant neighborhoods with opportunities to thrive. Since 2022, Atlanta Habitat has made an estimated $32 million-dollar impact on affordable housing in neighborhoods across the City of Atlanta and South Fulton County. As one of Habitat for Humanity International’s largest affiliates, we have served more than 2,700 families (6,000+ individuals) with our first-time home purchase, rehab and critical home repair services and education programs since 1983.

Atlanta Habitat is grounded in the belief that thriving communities are built on a foundation of empowering working families to achieve the dream of homeownership. For more than 40 years, we’ve worked diligently to help build a more equitable Atlanta – a city where every family, regardless of their background, can become homeowners.
Atlanta Habitat is the only nonprofit in Georgia that operates as an affordable home builder, a financial institution and a resource hub. And, we’re one of the largest and most consistent investors and builders in Atlanta’s legacy neighborhoods.

Additional Culture Details
Atlanta Habitat does more than build homes, we also empower people and revitalize communities. Our homebuying process begins with an application and culminates with a 30-year, interest-free mortgage for individuals and families who meet specific criteria. Every potential homeowner goes through a selection process that requires them to invest 250 hours of ‘sweat equity’ and participate in 17 financial education and home maintenance courses.
We invite individuals and companies who are interested in supporting our mission to volunteer on a build site, donate to a campaign and shop at one of our two ReStore locations.
The ReStore is a discount home goods retailer where shoppers can find a variety of new or previously owned merchandise, and 100% of the sales from both stores support our mission.
