Friendship Public Charter School
Purpose
For nearly 30 years, Friendship has set the standard for excellence in public education in Washington, D.C. Growing from two to now 15 campuses—both in-person and online—we serve over 4,000 students from pre-K3 to 12th grade citywide. Comprised of over 1,000 dedicated educators and staff, we proudly support 5% of the district’s public school students, preparing them to grow, innovate, lead and succeed.
Vision
At Friendship, we believe in the transformative power of education. We create dynamic, immersive learning environments where students develop the skills, confidence, and curiosity to thrive in college and beyond. From early learning rooted in joy and discovery to advanced pathways across all campuses in STEM, the performing and visual arts, literature, and health sciences—along with one of the most robust Pre-AP, Advanced Placement, and early college programs in the city—our students are prepared for college success and beyond.
This commitment to excellence extends to our scholar-athlete program through a multi-sport athletic program spanning elementary, middle, and Division I high school competition. Year after year, Friendship teams dominate in football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, and track, earning championship titles, securing college scholarships, and building a legacy of excellence. Whether in academics or athletics, Friendship scholar-athletes rise to the challenge, proving that excellence isn’t just achieved—it’s expected.
