Vision
Greenleaf Trust is deeply committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. To support students of color pursuing careers in finance, our Chair and Vice Chair established the Greenleaf Trust Scholarship Program. This program awards 19 full scholarships each year to students studying Finance, Personal Financial Planning, or Accounting at Western Michigan University. Each recipient receives $12,400 annually, up to four years. Since 1999, over $2.7 million has been awarded, resulting in 139 graduates, many now working at top financial firms, including Greenleaf Trust.
In 2021, we launched Greenleaf Wealth Developers in three Kalamazoo high schools to enhance financial literacy and introduce students of color to careers in finance. The program has expanded to Portage Public Schools and local community organizations. Graduates receive an investment account funded up to $500 to support their continued financial journey. To date, 89 students have completed the program, with nearly $40,000 awarded in investment funding. Greenleaf Trust remains committed to the long-term growth and impact of this initiative.

Mission
Greenleaf Trust is a service business in every good sense. Our esprit de corps compels us to support and encourage one another no matter the circumstances. In encouraging and applauding that service, we realize the greatest benefit to our clients and to each other. Our commitment to helping others is not just top down, but also bottom up. It's important to our culture that philanthropy is something everyone engages in.
Greenleaf Trust team members donated nearly 2,000 hours of their time to different non-profit organizations in their communities. On President’s Day each year, we are encouraged to actively participate in Day of Caring. Team members volunteer to causes of their choice, either individually or as a group.
During the holidays in 2024, we supported 10 foster children. Team members participated by donating money or purchasing items from each child’s wish list. We wrap and deliver each gift to the agency and raised an additional $10,000 to benefit the children.
Greenleaf Trust was thrilled to roll out a new giving and volunteering program, Greenleaf Gives, in April of 2022. Inspiring our team to do more inspired the company to do more. So as part of Greenleaf Gives, Greenleaf Trust matches up to $1,000 per year per teammate towards eligible nonprofit donations. We are proud to support our teammates in this manner and excited that our company matched over $50,000 in donations.
