The firm traces its roots back to the first law firm in the Pecos Valley area of New Mexico. Founded in Roswell in 1888, we have undergone extensive evolution over the course of more than a century while retaining our proud heritage.
Our growth has been shaped by the oil- and gas-rich region we serve in the Permian Basin. New Mexico’s oil boom in the 1920s led to the firm’s representation of Humble Oil & Refining Co. (now ExxonMobil) and other natural resources companies. Members of our firm were pioneers in crafting the state’s oil, gas and water legislation, much of which remains in effect today.
