The Schenck School
The Schenck School is an independent K–6 school in Atlanta dedicated to providing reading remediation for students with dyslexia. Through a full academic program and expert instruction based in the Orton-Gillingham Approach, students build the skills and confidence needed to transition to mainstream schools. Most students attend for two to three years before outplacing. The School’s mission is to build a solid foundation for students with dyslexia and develop their rich potential. Schenck also supports broader literacy efforts through its outreach and teacher training arm, ReadSource.
Purpose
The purpose of The Schenck School is to provide students with dyslexia the specialized instruction and support they need to become confident, independent learners. The School exists to remediate reading challenges through evidence-based instruction, primarily the Orton-Gillingham Approach, and to prepare students for successful transitions to mainstream educational environments.
