University Co-op
Since 1896, the University Co-op has been focused on reducing the cost of course materials for Longhorn students. While many college bookstores are operated by for-profit corporations, the University Co-op is an independent 501(c)3 not-for-profit. Every penny of profit and donations go directly to course material scholarships for Longhorn students. Nearly 7,000 students last academic year received a course material scholarship with plans to expand scholarship support in coming years.
Local Community Support
The Co-op has committed over $2,000,000 towards course material scholarships for Longhorn students since 2022. Students receiving a Co-op Course Material scholarship receive $250 towards their course materials for the academic year.
